Posted: 26 Feb 2006 I have now received the summary report from John Baker; he did not know that I am now in SA permanently. He did make the point that if there is someone out there who could carry on looking at me old Dorset sites on a fairly regular basis. That would give me some peace of mind as well; especially when it comes to management and hibernacula!!! If you read this Dave - are you doing any tasks around hartland. Just that it was discussed that the growth around the bank of 'the pond' is now shading out La egg-laying sites; also the growth on top needs a 'trim'. All carefully dome by hand of course, chainsaws accepted. We are having a series of wildfires here in the Western Cape; observed snakes fleeing across the road, including a puff adder sidewinding at a gtreat rate of knots. Poor old angulate tortoises don't stand a chance though. Tony |

Posted: 16 Mar 2006 Interesting summary report.... I was a little confused about the power analysis being 90% or greater. As I understand it, as power increases, and type II error is decreased, type I error tends to increase. Does anybody have the stats supporting paper?, I would be very interested to look at it to understand the assumptions made. Steve Langham - Chairman Surrey Amphibian & Reptile Group (SARG). |
